Rudolf Jaeckel Prize



A special highlight will be the presentation of the Rudolf Jaeckel - Prize of the German Vacuum Society DVG to Prof. Dr. Karl Leo from the Technical University of Dresden, and his Laureate Lecture entitled “Organics: Lousy semiconductors for wonderful applications”. Prof. Leo and his team received recently also the Future Prize 2011 of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany for their path breaking research on Organic Light Emitting Diodes and Organic Solar Cells.














IUVSTA-Elsevier Student Award

Aims

The IUVSTA-Elsevier Student Award scheme is designed to give partial financial support to postgraduate research stu­dents within seven years of obtaining their first degree at the start of the conference to help them to attend IUVSTA meetings and conferences at which they are presenting a paper. The students should reside and study in one of the developing countries that are eligible for the Research4Life program, as listed on

Eligibility



To be eligible for the IUVSTA-Elsevier Student Award , the applicant must be registered as a postgraduate research student with a PhD thesis research program closely related to the scope of the JVC14/EVC12/AMDVG11/CroSloVM19 conference. He/she should attend the conference and present a manuscript under an oral or poster form.



Application



The applicant must submit the following items to the JVC14/EVC12/AMDVG11/CroSlo19 office in order to be considered for the IUVSTA-Elsevier Student Award competition:



- One completed application form
- One copy of the abstract of the planned contribution to the Conference
- Indication of requested financial support and description how it will be spent

The beneficiaries of the award are expected to attend the closing ceremony on Friday, June 8, 2012.



Award Benefits



Financial support for one award is up to 500 €. In very exceptional cases, more than 500 € can be awarded on individual basis.



The successful applicants must confirm their attendance within 2 weeks after notification.
